About the event
Writing the Land : Darkness
As the season drifts silently into winter, we will spend an afternoon connecting with the darkening energies of the land through poetry and writing.
Writing the land is a series of collaborations between Ecotherapy East and local writers to deepen our sense of connection with the land. This November it is my great privilege to co-host Writing the Land with a theme around darkness. The session will take place on a truly special 13-acre meadow in Bramfield. The meadow is being softly tended by Ecotherapy East who are gently building a community steeped in this place. A community who are nurturing the land and in turn being nurtured by it.
We invite you to become part of that community, explore the land with us through meditation, poetry, nature connection and writing. Hearing and writing words which will guide our discovery into the lesser explored gifts of nature in the winter season. We will take inspiration from the wintering, stilling and slowing of the natural world around us.
No writing experience is necessary, just bring something to write with and warm heart.
Venue: Bramfield, Halesworth (Exact location provided on booking)
Date: 18th November 2023
Time: 1.30-4.30pm so we can soak up that fading light as the sun begins to go down (Sunset at 16.58 so people can head home before darkness falls completely).
Booking essential via email. Do get in touch for any queries or questions.
Pay what you can afford: Suggested ticket price £25 with sliding scale. All welcome, no matter your financical means.
The meadow is being kept as close to nature as possible, as such ground can be uneven, there is a compost loo, fire (weather permitting) and warm drink. Please bring anything you need to be comfortable, chair, blankets, mug and something to write with/on as well as footwear which allows you to walk the meadow.
